Fairfield coach elected to post
Fairfield Eagles head basketball coach Joey Worley recently was elected second vice president of Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
With the election, Worley is in line to become the association president in two years. He has served on the TABC board of directors for two years.
The coach and wife Renee joined Fairfield Independent School District 21 years ago and teach at the senior high school.
Worley took over as Eagles head basketball coach 11 years ago and has directed the team into post season play several years. The 2009-10 Eagles advanced to the Region III tournament.
In addition to basketball, Worley is head golf coach and assists in football.
TABC was formed in 1975 and has more than 4,000 members.
