Dew Independent School District holds the kindergarten and prekindergarten roundup May 6 and 7 to prepare for classes beginning in the fall.

The roundup is held both days from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

For pre-Kindergarten, TEA qualifying requirements state that a child must be four years old on or before September 1, 2010, and meet one of the following criteria: unable to speak and comprehend the English language; educationally disadvantaged - which will be determined by eligibility to participate in the National Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program, homeless, and have one or both parents who are active members of the military.

If the student meets the qualifying requirements, no tuition fee is charged. Tuition of $300.00 per month (9 months) will be charged if the child does not meet the above qualifying requirements.

Prospective kindergarten students must be five years old on or before September 1, 2010. No tuition is charged for kindergarten.

Dew ISD accepts both in-district and transfer students.

Documents required for registration include the child’s birth certificate, immunization record, social security card, proof of address, (electric bill, gas, etc.) and some form of identification from the person enrolling the student.
