Golfers complete district

Golf season wrapped up for the Fairfield high school teams in the second round of District 20-AAA tournament competition Monday.

The second of two tourneys was played at Echo Creek Golf Course near Murchison.

Crockett boys won the right to advance to region as the first place team from 20-AAA, with either Brownsboro or Palestine advancing as the second place team.

Boys’ district medalist honors were won by Carson Earp of Crockett who fired an 88 this week to go along with an 80 he fired in the first tourney, played at Pine Dunes Golf Course.

Low round by a Fairfield player this week was a 97 carded by Thomas Schlabra.

Other FHS boys’ varsity scores were: John Fritz, 98; Kory Jumper, 108; Aaron Heers, 108; and Ty Ezell, 114.

Playing in the jv division were: Ben Barlow, 98; Drew Qualls, 117; Zach Mims, 123; Marshall Davis, 131; Lane Oliver, 132; and Jared Schlabra, 138.

Crockett also won the girls’ district title, followed in order by Palestine and Fairfield.

Medalist honors went to Kendall Earp of Crockett, who fired an 82 this week to go with an 83 carded a week earlier.

Fairfield scores were: Sarah Rhoads, 132; Hannah Worley, 134; Emily Lassiter, 152; Bree Woody, 158; and Jordan Gandy, 159.
