Services for James Dale Callaway, 58, of Elkhart, were held Sunday at Bailey and Foster Chapel in Palestine with Rev. Don Mattern officiating.

Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Callaway died April 8 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

He was born April 14, 1951 in Palestine to Elwin and Janice Ferrell Callaway. A superintendent for Bob Mitchell, Inc., Mr. Callaway was a member of the Percilla Methodist Church.

Mr. Callaway was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Jimmy Callaway and Charles Robinson.

He is survived by his daughter Alexa Callaway Minyard of Spring, son James Wesley Callaway of Elkhart, sisters Delma Saunders and Judy Beckham of Elkhart, and Janet Quinn and husband Larry of Tucker;

Brothers Troyce Callaway of Kansas, Henry Callaway of Grapeland, Kenny Callaway and wife Cindy of Palestine and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James “Dino” Kelly, Steven Callaway, William Beckham, Michael Hudson, Jackie Melson, Chris Callaway, Camron Callaway and Robert Ivey.
