LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
The passing of the health care bill is a historical event! That is the main talking points of the Democrats who passed this bill.
By Webster’s definition, history is: Past events, especially those involving human affairs; an account or record of past events that is written in chronological order, especially those concerning a paerticular nation, people, activity, or knowledge; the study of the past and its significance.
Therefore, I am not sure how signing a health care bill is history, since no one knows the significance of this bill yet.
Predictability leads us to believe this bill will bankrupt the country. By Webster’s definition, predictability is: To tell beforehand; to foretell; to forcast.
However, history does have a way of repeating itself. For an inspiring history lesson, I encourage everyone to watch the documentary “Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous With Destiny.” The parallels of the country then and now are evident.
As a country, we should seek out and elect “Citizen Politicians,” who do not apologize for defending our freedoms and who believe the American people are the government. Not politicians that believe the American people are too uneducated to know how they want their tax money spent.
When tax revenue is collected it does not become the President’s money or Congress’ money, it is still the American people’s money.
By Webster’s definition, a representative is: Having the power or character of another; exhibiting a similitude; typical; one who is authorized to act for another or others. Our Congress, in passing the health care bill, did not represent the majority of the American people.
Again, I encourage everyone to watch “Rendezvous With Destiny.” It is a remarkable history lesson on how the right leader can be elected to office and represent the values of the American people.
God bless America and God bless our troops.
Sincerely,
Christi Eidson-Kropp
