Sheriff’s Report
Sheriff's Report Number 483- Hemale/Shemale Troubles after Hemale comes back from what was described as spending two weeks in Louisiana with Girlfriend….Deputies Shipley and Harrison told by Hemale that he is moving out, will stay away forever, no more problems with this 'un. No Sport, your next problems will probably be with the new one. Be ever mindful of that basic concept of Geometry, that the triangle is the strongest geometric shape…. three sides, three angles equals great strength…..If you don't think so, look up at the trusses overhead the next time you are in a Wal Mart or on a bridge, but this, and get this point….. does not apply with people. Whenever you have three people involved, two of one sex, one of another, and romance is in the air, you have the weakest possible combination. That is why it has been referred to for centuries as the Infernal Triangle. Always a weak, unmanageable problem will be created, or recreated, depending upon your actions.
Just attended a local meeting on MHMR. According to what I was told, Texas ranks fiftieth out of Fifty States on monies expended for Mental Illness. And no, we are not number Fifty as regards spending the most….We are spending the LEAST. To my way of thinking, with all of the resources that we have, that is deplorable. No, let me write that as DEPLORABLE. More and more MHMR problems are being handed off by the State to the individual Counties. This may work in Dallas, Houston or Bexar Counties, but I assure you that the majority of Texas is still composed of small population, rural Counties, which do not possess the resources to deal with the problem. Every County has people with mental problems. Every County Sheriff in this State transports mental commitments to various areas with mental facilities. Our County is a big user of DePaul Hospital in Waco. This morning found out that DePaul is cutting the number of psychiatric beds from 34 down to 24. This reduction will result in more long distance transports for our Deputies. This will cost all taxpayers more money as well as cut down on available law enforcement during each of these transports. If deterioration continues, we will be forced to place mental commitments into Jail cells until an opening in a psychiatric unit opens up. With this State only operating 1,080 psychiatric beds for our entire State….well, you can see the problem….Just not enough beds to put them. And I can assure you, a Jail is not the place to keep crazy folks, nor can it help them. They need help of a specialized nature and Jails are just not set up for it. I'll get off the Soapbox, it won't help with the problem.
