FHS girls run to third place
The Fairfield high school Lady Eagles varsity track team finished third Friday in the Noon Lions Bluebonnet Relays at Ennis.
Fairfield thinclads scored 124 points, trailing Legacy with 210 points and Waxahachie with 147.
Also competing were Corsicana, Ennis and Itasca.
Class AAA state 200- meter champion Derekia Coleman of Fairfield won her race in a time of 25.68 seconds.
In her first time running the 400-meter race, Barvion Wyatt was clocked at 1:01.86 to claim the gold medal.
Distance runner Lilly Duarte won the 3,200- meter race 12:52.25 minutes.
