ELVIA WHITE, SR.
Funeral services will be held Friday in Houston for Elvia Noah White, Sr. Interment is at Hopewell Cemetery in Fairfield.
Mr. White was born on April 3, 1943 in Fairfield to Robert and Gerthia White. He was the fourth of eight children.
He attended and graduated from Dogan high school in 1962. He moved to Houston after graduating high school.
He married Flower Hatcher in 1964. The couple had three children, Elvia White, Jr., Felicia Nicole White and Flower White.
He retired from the City of Houston after 35 years of dedicated service. He also retired from the Federal Building after 30 years of service.
Elvia is preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers, Clifford Lucas, Frederick White, Sherman White and Kenneth White and two sisters, Lovie Lois McElroy and Mary Ella Mims.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years Flower Hatcher White, son Elvia N. White, Jr., (Debra James-White) of Grand Prairie; daughters Felicia N. White of Houston, and Flower J. White-Hunter (William) of Cincinnati, Ohio;
Grandchildren Chelsie, Amenah, Joshua, Aubrey, Madison and Y'wante James; sister Eva Joyce Burns; aunts Mildred Andy and Martha Govan; several brothers-in-law and sisters in-law,; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and special friends Andrew and Carolyn Washington of Dallas.
