For the 13th year in a row, and for 20 of the last 21 years, Fairfield high school won UIL District Academic competition last weekend, and will send 38 FHS students on to regional competition later this month.
Held at Trinity Valley Community College, Fairfield handily earned the district 3A championship title with 575.50 points, compared to second place winner Athens high school, who tallied 390 points.
"FISD is a district of winners!" says FISD deputy superintendent Sheila Dove. "How many schools in Texas have those bragging rights?"

FAIRFIELD HIGH SCHOOL students blew away the competition to win their 13th consecutive district academic championship. Of the FHS students taking part in the district meet last week, 38 qualify to advance to the region meet April 24 at Brenham.
"The high scores totaled by Fairfield high school at the UIL District Academic meet on Friday represent the efforts of dedicated students who are backed by a supportive community," says UIL academic coordinator Betty Gentry.
