Sheriff’s Report Number 481- 911 Bounce from Groesbeck, neighbor’s house on fire on Phyllis, Limestone County S.O. advised. FEMS to FCR-111, hallucinating. DPS Purnell to accident, East 84. Officers out looking for a mini-van reported driving wrong way on IH-45. Apparently, since none could spot him, he figured it out on his own. Streetman and Southern Oaks VFD’s to grassfire, north of FM-416, in Navarro County.

FEMS to Boyd Unit, Inmate with chest pains. Wortham kids reported playing chicken with the trains, WPD Keathley to same. Multiple reports of reckless driving on IH-45, an every weekend occurrence. TPD Reed to Heights, Lady just came in from Church, front door busted in. FEMS and Kirvin VFD to FCR-969, Lady possibly having heart attack. Dep. Aldrich to property on FM-489 man has leased, woman trespassing on same.

Dep. Robert Willis jails motorist on local Warrants, Credit Card Abuse and Burglary of motor Vehicle. Prankster calls 911, says name is Donald Trump, lost his donkey on IH-45. Thanks, Bubba!...Let’s just reverse the tale a little bit….Next time, say you are the donkey and you lost Donald Trump! TPD Howard and Dep. Harrison dealing with problems between two Ex’s, S. 10th.

Spring Break is on us, a big, blue sky and perfect temperatures. A good time for gardening, fishing or a thousand other things. Many trees budding out.

FEMS to local Truck Stop, 62 year old trucker in severe pain. Lady calls, enroute to Luna Road kids left alone, but when Dep. Jeremy Shipley arrives, instead of finding small kids, ages 4,6,7 and 8, finds 2 adults, 1 teen and 2 children. Deputies Robertson, walker and McGowan locate and arrest man in East end of County on Anderson County Felony Warrant. I had mentioned this last week as a Family Problem which had spilled over into our County from across the River.

Deputy McGowan takes possession of a shotgun found lying on side of County Road. Streetman VFD to grassfire, FCR-1100. Deputies Aldrich and Shipley to FM-1451, Family Troubles, separated for the night. Fairfield VFD to rekindled fire, FCR-940. Deputy Robert Elom locates man involved in theft from a few days before. Call comes in….Need Officer quick….Wife throwing things….Church Street….FPD to same. THDEMS to Cypress, someone having a panic attack.

Loose cow troubles, FCR- 321….Owner says can quit worrying about her….Her next stop will be the auction barn! THDEMS to possible heart attack on Pecan. FEMS to Williford, Lady very ill. Loose cattle, Mile 209. FEMS to FCR-300, pain in left arm. THDEMS to 24 year old man, blacked out, high temperature. TPD Travis Martin has three run from him afoot on S. 9th, area searched by TPD Sykora and Deputies assisting, nothing located.

911 Call comes in from Nursing Home, Dispatcher Retha responds while a visitor stands in the Lobby. Apparently, the FEMS Ambulance must have been passing the Courthouse at exactly that time, because immediately the siren came on, began its wail, and the lobby visitor looked at Retha and said, “ Man, they are fast!”

FEMS and Butler VFD to East FM-489, man dehydrated, blood sugar high, blood pressure low. DPS Sandifer to US-84 at FM-2777, 18 Wheeler blocking pavement, stuck, traffic shut down until wrecker could extricate. WPD Peters to N. 3rd, report of house Break-in. Deputy House and FPD Officer to FM- 27 on report of Lady laying on side of road. Dep. House to loose Charolais bull, FM-489. Dew VFD, FEMS to Dew area, Lady pregnant, possibly having complications.

Deputies Robert Willis and Cory House to FCR-340, daughter intoxicated, Mother having verbal troubles with same. THDEMS and TPD Sykora and Cordova to US-84, 12 year old hit in head with PVC pipe, apparently it shattered, Mom removed some of the pieces from his head. Deputy Clayton Aldrich arrests man on FCR-1211, Warrant issued by Attorney General. Gets another in Teague on Warrant.

911 Call comes in from FM- 488 about vehicle reportedly driving poorly….The vehicle turned into a driveway while caller still on the line….When the driver could be viewed, the caller stated “an old Lady Driver!” Dispatcher Retha then adds notation on sheet, “I didn’t tell him I fell in that same caregory!” Yes, Retha, as each year slips by, more and more of us can say that. Deputy Shipley to FCR-970, missing cattle, last seen eight days before.

Lady on Ross knocked down by dog, Officer Carter and animal Control to same. Loose cow in yard, FCR-231, owner’s friend to handle. FEMS to assist young Lady at rural location, possible broken leg….And in the Streetman area, a 14 year old flipped a go-cart and now believed to have a broken arm, be taking to medical help in private car.

Lady calls, following a trailer with load of cows….Also has horses in same trailer….Is this legal? Oh, yes Ma’am positively….No different than letting little boys ride on the same School Bus with little girls. He could add two roosters, one nanny goat and three shoat pigs to the same load…..Still be legal!

FEMS and Streetman VFD to S. Runnels in Streetman, breathing troubles. FEMS, Fairfield and Teague VFD’s, Deputy House and FPD Green and Gallegos to accident, Mile 197, one pinned, one injured, Doctor Chopper used. Vehicle breaks down IH-45, 911 called, can we help? You bet, whatcha got?....One Korean National, nearly no English…..Language Interpreter over phone used, problem satisfied. Alzheimer’s scare at Freestone, Good Samaritan called, had him at Freestone Store, family picked up.

FPD Green arrests two motorists, Fred’s parking lots, both had City Traffic Warrants. WPD Michael Carter arrests man in Wortham on Teague Traffic Warrants. Teague and Kirvin VFD’s to untended fire, FCR- 935. Dog bite on PR-362, carried to ER, Dep. Robert Willis locates owner, dog is up to date on all shots. Loose roping steers, FM-2547, owner contacted, put up. Lady reports wallet stolen from car while at Family Dollar, then she found it…..Hey, that’s great!....But then she calls right back….But that wasn’t so great!....She did find the wallet….But all of the money was gone! FPD to same.

Scary call 911’d, 8 year old girl choking, but it popped loose and everything back to normal. TPD Reed jail young man on Assault charge after he and another tangled. FPD Tiner arrests another, S. Bateman, Fairfield Traffic Warrants. WPD Carter gets another, Fairfield Traffic Warrants and Marijuana in her panties…..And no, Michael Carter didn’t recover the evidentiary Mary Jane himself!…..She was cuffed, brought to the Jail and a Lady Jailer removed the Mary Jane baggie from the woman. Dep. Robert Willis jails man who presented his Driver License, his LAST and ONLY Driver License I might add….Which clearly showed that it had expired on his Birthdate…..in 1989!

Well, this week had a strange happening at the old Court House…..I know, you’re saying to yourself right now….”That ain’t nothin’ new”….But wait a minute, it really was….The good Ladies of the History Club, affiliated with the Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), had their monthly meeting. That by itself does not seem strange….but, just as announced in the newspaper, they held it in their original meeting place….The Ladies rest room, basement floor of the Court House! Of course, they really didn’t stay in their amidst the gleaming porcelain rows….No, they set up a table with punch and homemade cookies in the hall outside. What really made it unique was that each Lady present was dressed in period dresses from the time of their founding (1925). All dressed, Ladies Hats, longer dresses, plenty of beads, very prim and proper, each of them. Thank you, Ladies, for all of the good that you do in our area, and for those many years of good deeds in the past. Hope I’m present for your 100th, in the year 2025…..Of course, if I am present, please don’t ask me to step into the Ladies Rest Room with you! I’ll just stay outside and guard the cookies!!

Deputy Wade Harrison assists man out of gas, IH- 45.FEMS to Barn Stop, Fairfield, Lady on ground out front in parking area. Loose cows, FM-833, owner to fix fence. More out, FM-2547. Lady on FCR-1235 calls, reports folks are flying homemade appliances around, driving her crazy. Officers have been called out before but they can never see them. Going to talk to her daughter about these flying appliances…. Calls back again, going to call an attorney because her daughter won’t believe her!

Dep. Rick Howerton to torched VW Beetle, FM-833, totally burned, Fairfield VFD to same. WPD Chief Peters to Family Problems on East Brazos, verbal troubles grew into a shoving match. 911 call comes in from local Best Value Motel, one guest trying to dial another’s motel room. TPD Reed to complaint of dog chained to tree on Poplar, very cold, no shelter. Teague VFD to Mimosa, smoke in house. Deputies Howerton and Harrison to Family Violence, FCR-501, one now in Jail. DPS Zotz jails motorist, Old 75, Ellis County Warrant.

Deputy Robertson to FCR- 1171, vacated double-wide, newly broken window. Man kicks in door at Lady’s residence on Filmore, TPD Howard quickly to scene, man arrested, Burglary of Habitation. Very good job, Mr. Howard! Sewer overflowing at Teague sewer plant, City Worker advised. More Family Troubles, they never stop. Young man, one of our Frequent Flyers, up to his old tricks again on FM-27, panhandling, begging for money.

THDEMS to possible miscarriage on Cox, hemorrhaging. TPD Scott Sykora arrests female DWI, Daniel’s Texaco. WPD Carter arrests DWI on San Saba. TPD Howard to loose horses, one may be a donkey, FM-1367. Dep. Harrison to copper cables cut and stolen, five travel trailers, Cape Estes.
