FJHS eighth grade girls win track title
Host area teams at Fairfield Invitational . . .
      The Fairfield junior high school eighth grade Lady Eagles won their division and the seventh grade squad was third in the Fairfield Invitational track meet held at Eagle Field last week. Eight area schools were represented in the meet.

Held at Eagle Field . . .
      Fairfield junior high school seventh grade Eagles blasted the competition to win their division in the Fairfield Invitational track meet last week and the eighth grade placed second in its division. The meet was run Thursday at Eagle Field and included athletes from eight area schools.

Eagles, Lady Eagles host track meet
FHS girls win team crown . . .
      In their first track meet of the season, the Fairfield high school Lady Eagles claimed a team victory and the Eagles placed second. The meet was their own, the Fairfield Invitational, run Thursday at Eagle Field and featuring eight area high schools. To notch the team win, the Lady Eagles tallied 198 points, out pacing second place Palestine, 141 points.

Eagles’ playoff run comes to end
At Region III tournament . . .
      Fairfield high school Eagles cagers exited the post season playoffs Friday evening after a hard fought loss to the Hardin- Jefferson Hawks at the Region III tournament in Huntsville. The Hawks were elminiated Saturday night by Silsbee, which advances to the Class AAA state basketball tourney this week in Austin.

Lady Eagles eye district softball season
      The Fairfield high school Lady Eagles softball team wraps up its preseason this week and starts District 20-AAA competiton Tuesday when they host the Palestine Westwood Lady Panthers. With a pair of tournaments and three other games under their belts, the Lady Eagles are posting a 5-8 record.
