Garry Dane Lewis, 56, of Kirvin, died Thursday, March 4 at his residence. Graveside services were Monday, March 8 at Willow Springs Cemetery near Athens. Elder David Barnes, associate pastor of Cowboy Heritage Church of Freestone County, officiated. Visitation was Sunday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.

Mr. Lewis was born August 29, 1953 in Henderson county to parents Benjamin Boyd Lewis and Ellen Meador Lewis. He was a bridge inspector for BNSF Railroad and had been a Freestone county resident since 1982, when he moved from Corsicana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Cravey.

Survivors include two children, Jeffrey Lewis, and Gary Lewis and wife Leona, all of Wortham; the mother of his children, Donna Lewis of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Caleb and Mackenzie Lewis; Holly, Ronny, Gabby, and Rudy Miller, and Ryken Lewis; two special friends, Ross Ruckle, his job supervisor, and Robert Womack of Rowlett.
