Everett “Bud” Whatley

Services were held Sunday for Everett “Bud” Whatley, 91, of Fairfield, who died March 4. Dr. Jim Gooch officiated at the service, held at Griffin- Roughton Funeral Home.

Burial was at Woodland Cemetery. Pallbearers were William Payne, Glen Harris, Kent Whatley, Hoppy McGilvary, Tully Williams and Cooper Vandiver.

Mr. Whatley was born September 30, 1918 in Freestone county to Everett and Edna Whatley. He retired from Hess Oil after 33 years.

He is survived by sons and daughters in law, James and Janie Whatley, and Phil and Kathy Whatley, all of Stewards Mill; three grandchildren,

Teresa Vandiver, Kent Whatley and Audrey Payne; four great grandchildren, Cooper Vandiver, Christi Oakes, Ashley Whatley and Jackson Payne; two great great grandchildren, Annie and Ava Oakes, and a special friend, Lois Loyd.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sue Whatley, and parents, Everett and Edna Whatley, sister, Jimye Nell McGilvary, and daughter in law, Sonda Whatley.
