Tournament set for ACS
Dice and dominoes will help Teague Relay for Life raise money for the American Cancer Society on Saturday, Mar. 27 at the Eighth Ave. Baptist Church CLC building.
The EABC “Praying for a Cure” team is hosting the Bunco/42 bash fundraiser with a 42 tournament starting at 10 a.m. and Bunco games beginning at 6 p.m.
The group expects more than 60 Bunco participants based on the interest of Bunco in the area. “There are many Bunco groups that meet and play regularly and some have signed up their whole group,” say organizer co-team captains Glenda and Kara Buck.
“Bunco is becoming a very popular form of group entertainment,” Glenda Buck saysl. “Basically, if you can roll three dice and count to 21 you can play this game.” And, Teague is known for their fierce 42 competitions, she adds.
For the Bunco -42 Bash, committee members are pitching in to provide appetizers, dips, chips, and desserts. “It will be a pretty big spread,” she says. Soft drinks, tea and coffee will also be provided. Those who choose to do so may bring their own favorite food and soft drinks.
Cost to participate in the Bunco - 42 Bash is $20 per person, which will go directly to Relay for Life. “There will be winners and losers and lots of prizes,” Kara Buck says. “We have had some very nice items donated by city and area businesses.”
Space is available and those interested should reserve group seats. Fee is due upon registration for planning purposes. Everyone is invited to participate.
