Funeral services will be held Saturday, Mar. 6, for Matilda Allen Tippens, 93, who died Feb. 26 at ETMC Fairfield.

The service will begin at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Oakwood.

Mrs. Tippens was born July 26, 1916 in Fairfield to Romie Allen, Sr. and Julia Smith Allen. She was a member of Saint Hill Church of God in Christ in Fairfield.

She is survived by daughters Mammie Lee Gould of Fairfield, Minnie Raye Betts of Dallas, and Mattie Reed of Grand Prairie, sons Millard Tippens, Clarence E. Tippens and Dan Tippens of Ft. Worth, Eskray Tippens of Richardson and LaSalle Tippens, Sr. of Fairfield;

Brothers Lee Roy Allen of Dallas, sisters Easter Lee Green of Corsicana and Julia Hillis of Dallas, 40 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tippens was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dan Tippens, Sr., sons Leslie Tippens, Lee Murray Tippens and Willie Tippens, grandson Anthony Betts, sisters Mattie Chambers, Beulah Walker and Louise Malone and brothers Romie Allen, Jr. and Thurman Allen.

A wake will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Emanuel Chapel in Teague.
