Grand jurors hear testimony

Freestone county grand jurors met last week and returned indictments in 11 felony criminal cases against 10 defendants.

The regular monthly grand jury session was held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Freestone county courthouse in Fairfield.

Charges on which action was taken were driving while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary, forgery, aggravated assault and intoxication manslaughter.

Indicted were:

—Luis Raul Nunez, 37, of Fairfield on a Dec. 4, 2009, complaint of felony DWI. The indictment shows three prior DWI convictions.

—Brian Keith Thornton, 31, of Fairfield on a charge of possession of methamphetamine on Dec. 11.

—Brian Keith Thornton, 31, of Fairfield on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm on Dec. 11.

—Kamie Layne-Renea Williams, 23, of Fairfield on a Dec. 11 charge of possession of methamphetamine.

—Luis Raul Nunez, 37, of Fairfield on a Feb. 5, complaint of possession of methamphetamine.

—Michael Wayne Baker, 35, of Mexia on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a 2002 Jeep owned by Jami Jones, on Oct. 31.

—Angela Gail Allen, 30, of Wortham on a Jan. 27 charge of possession of methamphetamine.

—Terry Lee Lloyd, Jr., on a complaint of burglary of a building of Loretta Anderson on Jan. 24.

—Rachel Deanne Bowles-Hunt, 45, of Englewood, Colo., on a Jan. 12 complaint of forgery by passing a counterfeit $100 bill.

Two indictments remain sealed pending arrest of the defendants.
