Funeral services for William Howard Brown, 97, will be held Thursday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Steve Orbison and Bro. Larry Dickens will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague.

Visitation was held Wednesday.

Mr. Brown died Sunday, February 21, 2010, in Corsicana.

Mr. Brown was born on April 21, 1912 in Cherokee county, Texas. He spent most of his life in Freestone county, where he farmed and had a wood business. On November 19, 1935, he married Aline Cundiff.

They were married for 48 years, until her death in May, 1983. On April 27, 1991, he married Dorothy (Dot) Jordan and they were married until her death in October of 2008. He loved singing, playing his fiddle and accordion, as well as participating in area musicals. He was a member of the North Beaton Church of Christ in Corsicana.

He is survived by his son, John W. Brown and wife JoAnn of Corsicana; grandchildren Kenneth Brown and wife Lillian, and Jennifer Wolver and husband Jimmy of Corsicana; five greatgrandchildren: Whitney Brown of Blooming Grove, Afton Jones, Erica Wolver, Haley Brown and Layton Wolver, all of Corsicana;

Brother Marvin Brown and wife Ruth of Teague; two sisters, Bessie McCaig of Teague and Mona Lee Cole of Cleveland; and two sisters-in-law, Callie Brown and Peggy Brown, both of Teague.

He was preceded in death by three brothers; Judd Brown, Joel Brown and Manley Brown, sister Alice Lively, and his parents Frank T. and Bertha Brown.
