Graveside services and memorial services were held this week for Stella Jean Peterson, of Lubbock, who died Feb. 21 at the age of 82.

Stella Jean Peterson was born February 03, 1928, in Coryell county, to Winston David and Zona Jones Meyers. She married Eugene Griffin Peterson on April 06, 1947, in the Union Community near Slaton. He died March 03, 2002.

Mrs. Peterson was a housewife, and helped her husband run Peterson Grocery in Woodrow for 15 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Cypert, and her husband, Gayle of Lubbock, three sons, Roy Peterson and his wife Brenda, of Fairfield, Randy Peterson and his wife Candi, of Abernathy, and Kenneth Peterson of Lazbuddie.

Three sisters, Betty Taylor of Baird, Virginia Ann Garte Miller, of Mesa, Ark., and Dartha Hargrove of Amarillo, two granddaughters, Christina Peterson of Abernathy and Lisa Peterson of Tyler; four grandsons, Bryan Peterson of Ft. Worth, Eric Peterson and his wife Becky of Fairfield, Michael Peterson of Houston, and Joshua Peterson of Abernathy; and two great grand children, Avery and Adelyn Peterson of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by four sisters, Lillie, Ruby Lee, Ola Mae, and Faye; and two brothers, R. D. and Charlie.
