Funeral services were held Feb. 4 at Greer Family Mortuary in Alameda, with burial at Oakmont Memorial in Lafayette for Doris “MaMa” Hill Bergstrom, 87, who died Jan. 31 in Alameda.

Mrs. Bergstrom was born Feb. 12, 1922 and lived more than 50 years of her life in Alameda.

She worked as a nurse in labor and delivery at Alameda hospital, and spent her life taking care of others. She was considered a lifelong friend by many. Her passion in life was sharing her love, laughter, kindness and generosity as well as her joyful smile.

Survivors are her son Bob Ford, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and hundreds of others who became part of her family through her never-ending love for all people.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels.
