FHS grad earns honor
From Amarillo CofC . . .
      Former Fairfield resident Bill Jenkins recently was named to the “Top 20 Under 40 List” of Amarillo chamber of commerce. The award, the first ever given by the chamber, recognizes the influence of young professionals on the future of the Amarillo area. Nominees were graded on professional involvement, community involvement and personal achievement.

Students will jump for heart
Monday at elementary school . . .
     Fairfield elementary students will “Jump Rope for Heart” on Monday to raise money for the American Heart Association. This year’s theme is “Heart Heroes” and goal is to beat last year’s total raised of $9,000.

Gifted students qualify for program
      Current kindergarten students in Fairfield Independent School District can be nominated for the gifted and talented program by parents or community members until Feb. 11. Parents or others from the community may nominate students for consideration for the talent pool program by completing a nomination form in the elementary office.

Renee Brewer earns place on honor roll
      Renee Brewer of Fairfield earned a place on the Dean’s Honor Roll for the fall semester at Texas State Technical College in Waco. Brewer is a student in electronics technology. The Dean’s Honor Roll recognizes students with a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.9 for the semester.
