At annual PTO show . . .

OVERALL WINNER IN THE fifth annual Wortham PTO Star Search talent show is senior student Deundria Johnson. OVERALL WINNER IN THE fifth annual Wortham PTO Star Search talent show is senior student Deundria Johnson. Senior student Deundria Johnson was the overall winner recently in the fifth annual Wortham PTO Star Search talent show.

The show was held Jan. 16.

In picking up the top prize, Miss Johnson sang “It Will All Get Better in Time.”

Top performers in the kindergarten through second grade division were first place Mika-Lyn Gargis, second place Preston Batts, Reid Rogers, Kenlie Stuver and Reagan Stuver, and third place Peter Sinclair.

Miss Gargis danced to “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” Rogers, Stuver, Stuver and Sinclair sang “Gitchee Gitchee Goo” and Sinclair played guitar and sang “I’m Calling for You” written by his father.

Winners in the 3-5 grades division were Parker Fautt, first place singing “Jesus Messiah;” Reagan Fraze, second place drama skit; and Ta’Avyonne Felder, third place singing “Proud Mary.”

Junior high school winners were Randle Chambers, first place playing piano and singing “I’m Gonna Fly Away;” Katie Looney, second place singing “A Place in this World;” and Brooke Salisbury, dancing to “Falling Down.”

The high school division was won by freshman student Leah Butler, singing “Cowboy Casanova.”

Second place in the high school division went to Chris Lee, playing guitar and singing “It Ain’t Easy Being Me,” and third place went to Davesha Eggins, rapping a song.
