Valentines for troops

Students asked to help . . .

Through its affiliation with Veterans and Family Memorial Care, Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield has enlisted the aid of elementary school students to participate in “Operation Valentine.”

The message is a simple one: “Thank you so much for what you do. We always need you.”

That’s just one of the many messages from the heart of a child to a soldier overseas in a project called “Operation Valentine”.

David and Sharon Fox of Capps Memorial Chapel explain that students have written messages to the troops on Valentine cards, cut-out hearts, or whatever they like.

Capps Memorial Chapel has made sure they will be delivered to soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world where U.S. troops are stationed.
