Funeral services were held Tuesday for Lilla Chappell, 100, of Fairfield, who died Jan. 9 at ETMC Fairfield.

Harry Moore officiated at the service, held at Capps Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Myers, James Myers, Jerry Metzgar, Don Archibald, Tyler Archibald, Donnie Flandry and John Sullivan. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chappell was born March 8, 1909 in Streetman to Jim and Mary Ellen Pilcher Myers. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church and a lifetime area resident. She was married to Ellis Chappell, who preceded her in death in 1987. Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Survivors include three children, Robert Archibald and wife Imogene of Lake Mexia, Dorothy Hedrick of Speegleville, Donnie Chappell of Fairfield, and sister Ruby Metzgar of Fairfield, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and eight greatgreat grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
