Deputy clerk seeks top post

DIANNE MANNING DIANNE MANNING “Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.”— Hebbel

This statement defines the enthusiasm Dianne Manning exhibits about her decision to become a candidate for Freestone County Clerk.

“It is a great undertaking and I’m very excited about my decision,” the candidate declares. “I want to enlist your support and your vote during the March 2 Democratic Primary election.”

The county clerk’s office serves all citizens of Freestone county on many levels, such as issuing marriage licenses, birth certificates, death certificates, assumed name certificates and bail bond checks.

The office also records every real estate transaction in the county, files all court cases in county court, probate and mental department.

As an extension of responsibilities, the county clerk acts as ex officio member of the county commissioners court, serves as the official clerk for the court and is required to attend all sessions and record all proceedings.

“Many people have encouraged me to run as a candidate for this office,” Mrs. Manning says.

Mrs. Manning is a Freestone county native, daughter of the late J.C. Cox and Jean Cox, has been married to Richie Manning for 29 years and is the mother of three children.

She has served the citizens of Freestone county for 15 years, the last five under the current county clerk who chose not to seek re-election after holding the office for 18 years.

“It is very important that this office be managed by a person with experience and working knowledge of the county clerk’s office. I will apply my leadership and experience in this role to keep Freestone county progressing and moving forward,” she declares.

“I believe I am the most qualified candidate in all these areas, so, please, cast your vote on Tuesday, March 2, for Dianne Manning for Freestone County Clerk.”
