A business owned by a Fairfield couple has been named Business of the Month by the Fairfield chamber of commerce.
SMC Home Health Inc. was established in Fairfield in 2007 by Paul and Susan Marberry. The business provides in-home care to patients from pediatric to geriatric, including IV therapy, wound care, orthopedic surgery post-op, cardiac and CHF recovery.
Services include skilled nursing, therapy services, and home health aides who cover an 11-county area: Freestone, Limestone, Ellis, Navarro, Hill, Leon, Madison, Anderson, Henderson, Robertson and McLennan.
Medicare certified, SMC assists patients with VA, Medicare, private insurance and self-pay.
SMC Health Resources Inc., that provides nurses all over the state, was established in 1997.
Marberry was born and raised in Fairfield. He manages all the financial aspects of both businesses and rental property, which includes two office buildings on the south side of the courthouse square.
Mrs. Marberry moved to Fairfield more than 30 years ago, and is a registered nurse with a background in emergency medicine and intensive care and risk management. The couple both graduated from Fairfield high school, and they have a son, Anthony.
Marberry has served on the board for Fairfield Main Street, and has put in a number of volunteer hours with various organizations, including Fairfield FFA.
Mrs. Marberry is second vice president for the Fairfield chamber of commerce this year. Their businesses have been chamber members for four years.
Newest member of the SMC team is Linda Sealey, RN, director of nursing. “We have the greatest team to serve our community here in Fairfield and surrounding counties,” Mrs. Marberry says.
“Our future plans for our home health business is to take the very best care of all those we serve,” she adds. “Our hearts are the fondest toward our men and women who serve in the military or who have served to keep our nation free.”
