Winfred Alan Dove

A memorial service was held Wednesday for Winfred Alan Dove, 53, of Fairfield, who died Dec. 23 after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.

Service was held at First United Methodist Church of Fairfield with Rev. Ken Northcutt and Rev. Paul Kethley officiating.

Mr. Dove was born May 3, 1956 in Brownwood to Winfred M. and Nelda Sue Dove.

He loved to coach children, enjoyed high school football and the Dallas Cowboys and also enjoyed cooking. He graduated from Brady high school and Tarleton State University.

Mr. Dove lived in Hico for 21 years, Stephenville for eight years and Fairfield nine years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by father Winfred Dove, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wood; and father-inlaw and mother-in-law Donald and Elizabeth Smith.

Mr. Dove is survived by his wife of 32 years Sheila Dove of Fairfield, parents Ken and Sue Northcutt of Sweetwater; children Brett Dove and wife Carolyn of Arlington, and Brady Dove of Huntsville;

Sister Connie Dove of The Colony; sisters-in-law Suzan Garner and husband Eddie of Mullin, Sharon Mills and husband Randy of Hamilton; brother-inlaw Larry Smith and wife Patti of Clairette; grandson Clark Dove; uncle and aunts Don and Dannette Wood of Stephenville, and Billie Nabors of Red Oak, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Arrangements were made by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home of Fairfield.
