Well, that about draws us to a close for another week. I had a great Christmas….and I sure hope all of you did too. You may, after reading my “best and worst” comments on Christmas may think I have a negative view. I really don’t. We celebrate Christmas in commemoration of the birth of a small baby two thousand years ago in a stable. Nothing wrong with that. Over the past century we have allowed Christmas to become very commercialized. We all spend our hearts out, buying stuff for kids and grandkids that they want rather than need. We all do it. We want them to have more than we at the same age. We often overspend and this is where the problems start. Less money in your pocket that last few days of the month. This is the problem in my opinion every year. Couples know they have less than normal due to the purchase of gifts, arguments ensue, fights break out…..throw in a little alcohol and everything suddenly gets out of hand. The troubles can’t be blamed on Christmas or the celebration thereof…..the troubles are of our own making, they just seem to be magnified at Christmas. If all of us would follow the True Teachings of He born so long ago, these problems would never present themselves……Never!
Until Next Week . . . RALPH BILLINGS
