Raleigh McDonald
Services for Raleigh McDonald, 55, of Palestine were held Thursday at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Ted Welty officiating. Burial followed at Neches Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mr. McDonald died Monday at UT Health Center in Tyler. He was born June 14, 1954 in Palestine to John B. and Dorothy Crider McDonald, and was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. Mr. McDonald graduated from Palestine High School in 1972 and received his BA degree from the University of Texas in 1975. He was the owner of the UPS Store in Palestine, and was a member of the Lions Club and the Texas Ex’s Association. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters Michelle Adams and husband Mike, Carrie McDonald and Ralph Pfleeger, all of Fairfield, Elizabeth Smith and husband Sgt. Richard Smith of Fleming, GA., sister Daryl Sorrells of McKinney, brother John Ballard McDonald of Palestine and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dr. Ronald Stevener, Max Davis, Frank Roquemore, Chris Smith, Gary Hardin and Dale Wayne Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Douthit, Robin Moore, Lee Gillam, Marcus Neal, and Stewart Gaines.
