J. C. COX
Services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Fairfield for J.C. Cox, 86, who died Dec. 16 at Windsor Healthcare Residence in Groesbeck. Rev. Lewis Brown and Apostle David D. Ransom, Sr. officiated. Interment was at Cox Cemetery in Kirvin.
Mr. Cox was born Mar. 14, 1923 in Wortham where he attended public school and had been a member of Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church, Mexia, at the time of his death.
Mr. Cox had been employed with Fairfield ISD, Brown and Root, Inc, and served 22 years with the Freestone County Sheriff Department. He is survived by his wife, Jean Cox, Fairfield, sons Clois Cox and his wife, Blonda, Dallas, and Tracy Garrett and his wife, Linda, Palestine;
Daughters Linda Cooper and husband, William, Henderson, Dianne Manning and husband, Richie, Fairfield, Cynthia Garrison, Houston, Paula Storey and husband, Scott, Waxahachie, Yolanda Ransom and husband, Daniel, Fairfield, and Brenda Cox, Mexia, brother Joshua Cox, Ft. Worth, sister: Dorothy Mays, Dallas;
Twenty grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, five brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home of Teague is serving the Cox family.
