History volume printed
PHASE III OF A series of Freestone county history books is shown by Nancy Rula of Freestone County Genealogy Society. The book recently was published and is available for purchase.
Freestone County Genealogical Society now has phase three of its historical series available for sale, individually or as a set with the other two volumes.
The third volume contains 530 pages of news from 1888-89 and 1907 taken from the pages of The Fairfield Recorder and Teague Chronicle.
Pictures in the volume are from B-RI Museum in Teague and Freestone County Museum in Fairfield.
The series is entitled “A History of Freestone County: It’s Communities, Its People.”
News articles were transcribed from the Recorder and Chronicle by Modene Thornton and Nancy Rula.
In addition to publishing the third historical volume, the society recently was awarded third place by Texas State Genealogical Society for its biannial journal “Freestone Frontiers.”
Mrs. Rula edits the journal which is published in April and November and includes historical family and community information from throughout Freestone county.
