Couple celebrates 50th
MR. AND MRS. JOHN F. AULTMAN
John F. (Buddy) and Jeanette Aultman of Jacksonville and Fairfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 18.
The couple were married Dec. 18, 1959 at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, with Dr. Douglas Laird officiating. Aultman is a graduate of Fairfield high school and met Mrs. Aultman, a Pittsburg, Tex. high school graduate, while in college.
The Aultmans have three children, their spouses, and eight grandchildren, John David and Gena Aultman of Fairfield and children Jonathon, Connor and Avery; Jan and Phillip Lybrand, Jacksonville, and children Kaley, Kelsey and Kevin; and Jason and Toya Aultman, Conway, Ark. and children Turner and Landri.
Mr. and Mrs. Aultman are both graduates of Jacksonville College and Stephen F. Austin University, where they received their B.S. degrees. Aultman also holds a Master of Education in counseling from Stephen F. Austin, and a Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. Mrs. Aultman completed her Master of Education at the University of Texas at Tyler.
Aultman taught for 30 years in the Jacksonville Independent School District. He previously served at Jacksonville College as director of student personnel and admissions and currently is on staff at Jacksonville College as executive director of development and alumni.
He has worked on staff as minister of music for several churches including First Baptist Church, New Summerfield, Rose City Baptist Church, Tyler and First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, where he served as minister of music, youth and education. He worked in this same capacity at Farley Street Baptist Church, Waxahachie.
He was part time instructor at BMA Seminary, Jacksonville for 18 years. Mr. Aultman is in his fifth year as minister of music at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, Teague.
Mrs. Aultman taught in Jacksonville ISD for 28 years. After her retirement from that district, she began work for the University of Texas at Tyler as field supervisor of student teachers and interns in the College of Education. During those years and to the present, she has also worked with students in the same field from several other major Texas universities including Texas Tech and Texas A&M. She serves as church pianist and young adult Sunday school teacher at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, Teague.
