County trustees close year’s work
County commissioners met a final time for the year on Monday in a short meeting at the Freestone county courthouse.
Items on the agenda were standard fare, mostly housekeeping and records cleanup.
An agreement with West Publishing Corporation was renewed, which provides information for the county sheriff’s department. That department also received approval for an account with Performance Food Group.
Work continues on the Texas Community Development Block Grant that will provide, once all the paperwork is complete and submitted, some $350,000 to rebuild bridge and drainage damage caused by floods on April 28. Monday’s paperwork included adopting a standard federal grievance procedure resolution, and a fair housing resolution.
District clerk fees will increase by $5 beginning Jan. 1. The extra money will be used to preserve and restore old records.
County commissioners meet the first and third Mondays of each month at 9 a.m. in the commissioners courtroom. The meetings are open to the public.
