Paul Gay

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Gay, 68, were held December 10 at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Darrel Beggs officiated. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Gay passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. He was born and raised in Oklahoma and graduated Ringling high school with the class of 1959.

Mr. Gay enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Jan 5, 1960 and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis before being discharged in 1967. He married Jeanette on October 9, 1962 and shared more than 47 years together.

He went to work for L.T.V. (airplane manufacturer) in Arlington and later for Burlington-Rock Island Railroad (now B.N.S.F.) in January 1972 and retired in November 1997.

Mr. Gay loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Teague.

Survivors are his wife Jeanette Gay of Richland Chambers Lake, son, Larry Gay and wife Elaine Mendoza-Gay of San Antonio, daughter Becky Flori of Teague; four grandchildren, Jason Flori of Waco, Matt Flori of Teague, Tessa Gay, and Franki Gay both of San Antonio;

Sister, Hazel Gay of Wilson, OK.; brother-inlaw, Perry Pearson of Wilson, OK.; three nieces, three nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his parents, Leon C. & Ruby Gay; and one sister, Alice Pearson.
