Hazel Aycock

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Aycock, 96, were held Thursday, December 10, at First Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Darrel Beggs officiated. Interment followed the services at Post Oak Cemetery in Fairfield.

Mrs. Aycock was born in the Post Oak community near Fairfield, but moved to Teague at the age of five with her family when her father purchased a grocery store. She graduated from Teague high school with the class of 1929 and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baylor University in 1933.

Mrs. Aycock married D. O. (Buster) Aycock in 1935 and shared more than 59 years together before being separated by his death in 1995. Mrs. Aycock helped her husband in several businesses including grocery, tractor and truck sales, and later Aycock Motor Company, GM dealer, until he retired in 1976.

She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church for almost 90 years. She taught Sunday school and was involved in numerous ministries during her lifetime.

Survivors are son, Doug Aycock, retired physician, and wife Carol Ann of Montgomery; son-in-law, Dr. Lance Crews of Temple; grandson, Clayton Crews and wife Missie; and two great-grandsons, Sloan Crews and Connor Crews, all of Belton.

Mrs. Aycock was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Lyda Lynn Aycock Crews.
