Public school students throughout Freestone county start a 2-week vacation this week as classes let out for the Christmas holiday.

The holiday break in Fairfield and Wortham school districts starts when classes let out Thursday afternoon, and students return on Jan. 4.

Fairfield teachers must work Friday before starting the Christmas break.

Teague and Wortham students get out of classes early this Thursday and Friday, beginning the holidays early Friday afternoon.

Classes resume Jan. 5 in Teague and Wortham, but teachers have to come back a day early on Jan. 4.
