Frosh, jv Eagles claim victories
      Fairfield junior varsity and freshmen Eagles football teams each waged a battle before emerging with victories last week to end the 2009 season. The jv squad squeaked out a 13-6 win over the Crockett Bulldogs in a game that was close throughout and the frosh mounted a pair of goal line stands to beat Brookhill Academy.

      With the conclusion of a success volleyball season last week, the Fairfield high school Lady Eagles turn their attention to basketball. Lady Eagles basketball is under the direction of head coach Stephen Heers, who was hired in spring on the retirement of Tommy Fadal.

Eagles beat the Crockett Bulldogs
In 2009 grid season finale . . .
      It was a long season, but the Fairfield high school Eagles varsity football team ended on a positive note, defeating the Crockett Bulldogs 44-34. The Eagles, who were in close contests all season, came from behind to secure their lone win of the year.

Lady Eagles play bi-district match
Fall to the Robinson Rockettes . .
      Fairfield high school Lady Eagles dropped out of the post season playoff race last week with a bi-district loss to the Robinson Rockettes. The final match ended a successful season in which the team posted a 27-14 overall record and went 9-1 in District 20-AAA, sharing the district championship with Brownsboro.

      After winning their divisions at the District 20- AAA cross country meet, senior studens Lilly and Lando Duarte ran well enough Saturday at region to earn berths at the state meet this weekend at Round Rock.
