Furniture store opens
RUSTIC FURNITURE FEATURED at Texas Lifestyles Furniture Outlet in Fairfield is shown off by store manager Alan Powell. A new furniture store, Texas Lifestyles Furniture Outlet, opened this month in Fairfield and counts as the third store in a growing group that started a year ago.
Texas Lifestyles started in Corsicana, has opened stores in Fairfield and Ennis, and is looking for another location, business partner Jerry Walthall reports.
"It's been a blessing. The Fairfield store is off to great things," he says.
The store is located at 999 west U.S. 84.
Manager of the Fairfield location is Alan Powell, who lives near Eureka on the north side of Richland- Chambers Reservoir.
Walthall has lived the past eight near St. Elmo on the south side of the reservoir. His wife, Sue, is executive director of special education for Hill county, and son Coleman, is a freshman student at Fairfield high school where he plays football, basketball, baseball and golf.
Texas Lifestyles features rustic furniture for every room of the house, and for offices.
All furniture is made of pine and is lightly stained—-customers can stain pieces a darker color or paint the furniture to suit their tastes.
Most pieces feature a "Texas Star" in their design.
Powell reports that the store can also order custom designed pieces for customers.
Walthall reports that the business offers its furniture at wholesale prices to the public, looking for volume to support the bottom line.
"Our prices are very affordable. We go after a wholesale market," the business owner says.
The store manager points out that they rearrange their stock at least every 30 days to keep a fresh look.
In addition to rustic pine furniture, Texas Lifestyles sells leather couches and mattresses in all sizes, and offers a layaway service to customers.
Powell reports that he is planning to have a Texas flag painted on the roof of the business building to help attract business.
Texas Lifestyles in Fairfield is open Monday- Saturday.
