Half of the felony criminal indictments handed down by the Freestone county grand jury—-there were 17 in all—-dealt with illegal drug charges last week.

The grand jury convened in its regular monthly session Wednesday, July 29, at the courthouse in Fairfield.

Charges on which action was taken include driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, assaultfamily violence, aggravated assault, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, prohibited substance in a correctional facility, possession of methamphetamine, theft, possession of cocaine, aggravated sexual assault of a child and tampering with physical evidence.

Indicted by the grand jury were:

—Henry Agusta Ringer, 42, of Oakwood on four counts of DWI with a child passenger on May 23.

—Jorge Bernal, 33, on a June 12 complaint of assault-family violence with a previous conviction for allegedly striking Veronica Bernal with his hand.

—Lester Lee Thomas, 38, of Wortham on a charge of aggravated assault on a peace officer, allegedly threatening Wortham Police Chief Scott Peters with a knife on June 13.

—Jimmy Don Fouse, 34, of Arlington on a June 6 charge of unauthorized use a a motor vehicle, a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle owned by Abbigale Erwin.

—Jimmy Don Fouse, 34, of Arlington on a June 6 charge of evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle.

—Daniel Collins, 35, of Teague on a complaint of possession of methamphetamine on July 5.

—Thomas Newton Price, 27, of Kirvin on a June 30 complaint of theft of a pickup truck and laptop computer from Michael Stamper.

—Gregory Cargile, 29, of Dallas on a charge of possession of methamphetamine on July 11.

—Terry Schoeneberg, Jr., 25, of Fairfield on a charge of possession of methamphetamine on July 11.

—Andrea Rae Paris, 26, of Katy on a July 12 charge of possession of cocaine.

—Nathan Thunder Davis, 18, of Fairfield on a complainant of aggravated sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 on July 15.

—Linwood Durham, 43, of Buffalo on a June 23 charge of possession of methamphetamine.

—Andrea Lynn Norris, 26, of Normangee on a June 23 charge of possession of methamphetamine.

—Robert David Brown, 70, of Marquez on a June 23 charge of possession of methamphetamine.

—Elizabeth Ann Haggard, 50, of Fairfield on a complainant of possession of cocaine on June 13.

Two indictments remain sealed pending
