Rotary Club installs new officers
FAIRFIELD ROTARY CLUB MEMBERS receiving service awards for the 2008-09 club year are: l-r, Steve Schauwecker, Landis Bayless, Kevin Moller, Brian Mannen, Jason Hullum and Gene Neal. Fairfield Rotary Club last week installed new officers and presented awards for service to the club during 2008-09.
The gavel was passed from outgoing president Kevin Moller to new presi- dent Landis Bayless.
Other officers for the new club year are presidentelect Steve Schauwecker, treasurer Brian Mannen and secretary Jason Hullum.
Service awards presented are Rotarian of the Year to Moller, Mannen for public relations, Gene Neal for international service, Bayless as president-elect, and Schauwecker as secretary.
An "Appreciation Eagle" was awarded to Dr. Melanie Schauwecker who spearheaded efforts to form an Interact Club at Fairfield high school.
Interact Club is a selfgoverning, self-supporting organization sponsored by Rotary International for youth ages 14-18.
Purpose of the club is to develop leadership skills and personal integrity, demonstrate helpfulness and respect for others, understand the value of individual responsibility and hard work, and advance international understanding and goodwill. The FHS chapter, with more than 50 members, is the largest in Rotary District 5870.
