Mary Newman

Funeral services were held Friday, June 5, for Mary Newman, 83, of Fairfield, who died June 2 in Fairfield.

Ed Ridge officiated at the services, held at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Burial was at Lake Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Newman was born April 13, 1926 in Freestone county to Leo and Mattie York Cherry.

Pallbearers were Shane House, Blake House, Greg Smith, James Myers, Zack Newman and Roy Newman.

Mrs. Newman is survived by daughters Donna and Richard Smith of Sugarland, Danna and Scott Terrell of Mobeetie, sister Neva Harrison of Pasadena and Dean Mosteit of La Port, as well as grandchildren Kristi Gary, Kim and Billy Enoch, Shane and Whitney House, Blake House, Greg and Lacey Smith, Melanie and Shawn Brooks and Amy Smith, and seven greatgrandchildren.
