Musical performance

FSB Travelers . . .

On Saturday members and friends of FSB Travelers visited Dallas' Music Hall to view a performance of Joseph Stein's "Fiddler on the Roof."

Originally opening in 1964, the Broadway musical was based upon "Tevye and his Daughters", a story written by Sheldon Harnick in 1894.

Set in Tsarist Russia, the story centers around Tevye, his wife and their five daughters and a father's struggle to protect his family, religion and traditions from outside influences.

The musical includes many memorable songs including: "If I Were A Rich Man," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "Do You Love Me?" and "Sunrise, Sunset."

Prior to the performance, the group dined at Dallas Music Hall. Lunch included a salad bar, entree choices of chicken, tilapia, lamb or turkey, a variety of seasoned vegetables, and a dessert bar.

Those attending the performance included Veta Ruth Hancock, Mozelle Mayes, and Bobbie McReynolds, all of Coolidge; Katy Whitten of Dawson; Doris Casey, Loy Newberry, and Dell Terry, all of Fairfield; Diana Bradley, Annette Brannan, Lacey Longenbaugh, Dalton Longenbaugh, Dorothy Sims, Mary Lou Vestal, and Debbie Williams, all of Groesbeck; Evelyn Hull and Jacqueline Morton, both of Jewett; Christine Kelly of Kosse; Anna Steele of Marlin; Kay Forman, Sherry Manning, and Glenda Nelson, all of Mexia; Julian and Nancy Wise, all of Butler; Judy Wardle of Streetman; Meagan Rhea of Teague; Geraldine Ariano of Thornton; Miriam Bounds, Frankie Carter, Sammie Davis, Dottie French, and Suzie Jones, all of Wortham.
