*It was this very same week back in 1836 that Ft. Parker in neighboring Limestone County was attacked by Comanches. We all know the tale….Cynthia Ann carried off to captivity, her son to become the future Comanche leader Quanah Parker…..It is a tale far better than any fiction. We shared this with you readers many months ago…..My point is this…..Right now is the perfect time of the year to drive over to the Ft. Parker area, view it in its natural splendor, lush and green, peaceful and tranquil. So very different from that day so long ago…..Go ahead, jump in the car and head that way…..Find you a good spot under a shade tree and view your surroundings….Let your mind drift off. It won't hurt if you spend three or four hours doing it…..Remember what those folks went through…..It'll make most of our little present day complaints and troubles just flitter away. It will put the whole world into proper perspective.
