High school students honored
RECIPIENT OF THE FHS ACT of Integrity Award was junior Lilly Duarte who displayed an act of selflessness as she helped a fallen competitor during a Region III track meet. Miss Duarte completed the race finishing fifth. Students who have excelled academically at Fairfield high school this year were recognized last week at the annual Honor Day Assembly.
The event included recognition of students who are ranked at the top of their class, achieved perfect attendance or showed outstanding effort in a subject.
A special award, the Fairfield High School Act of Integrity, was awarded by principal Von Wade to junior student Lilly Duarte for a singular act of selflessness at the Region III track meet.
Miss DeFriend posted the highest score at FHS on the mathematics test.
Interact Club recognizes a student who has provided a minimum of 100 hours of community service, this year honoring Torian Schauwecker who compiled 154 hours.
A total of 16 students were recognized for achieving perfect attendance this year and one student, senior Sunny Patel, did not miss a class during four years of high school.

All students who participated in UIL academics, giving the school its 19th district title in 20 years, and UIL athletics were asked to stand for recognized.
FHS also won the Spring Sweepstakes Trophy that includes scores from acadmics, golf, tennis, and track and field.
