Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor:

I wish one of Fairfield's civic groups or clubs would take over caring for the large terracotta urns downtown that the Main Street people used to keep filled with blooming plants. They look forlorn with their straggly, dying leftovers—- it's worse than not having them at all.

How about the chamber of commerce, or a garden club? Someone with a green thumb needs to help out (not me—-I have the "black thumb of death" with plants).
Sincerely,
Rozanne McKinney
Fairfield

* * * * * Dear Editor:

Thank you, Dew community for your support of the Dew ISD maintenance bond. With your support we will be able to keep more of your tax dollars in Dew to be spent locally, and we will send less of your school tax dollars to Austin.

With the passage, we will prudently spend money to maintain the new facilities we now have, as well as purchase/replace/upgrade our technology program as it continues to change and provide quality transportation for our students in district while they attend school.

Thank you to Sharron Hagen for leading the community advisory committee and her hard work toward passage of the bond. With her tireless effort and the continued support of the Dew community, we will be able to provide a quality education and a safe environment for all students, along with striving to become the best (PK-8) school in Texas.

Again . . . thanks to all of you for your support in passing a maintenance bond for Dew ISD.
Tom Weeaks
Superintendent
Dew ISD
