(A summary of recent activity of Fairfield Police Department.)

The Fairfield Police Department would like to take this opportunity to thank our fellow peace officers. May 15 is National Peace Officers Day. It is our duty to serve the people of this state by safeguarding life and property, protecting citizens against violence, disorder, deception and ensuring the peace of each citizen.

Fairfield Police Department would like to thank each agency for their courageous deeds. We all honor those who made the supreme sacrifice, or have been disabled in the line of duty.

May 4

12:30 a.m.—Officer Tiner with a subject at Burger King restaurant that was asleep in front of the store.

2:30 a.m.—Cpl. Bass observed a suspicious vehicle at the Dollar General store. Subject was looking for boxes. Subject was advised that was not a good idea, given the time of night.

9:30 a.m.—0Officer Kindon on report of man sleeping on loading dock. Subject arrested on a public intoxication charge.

2 p.m.—Officer Kindon on reported wreck on west U.S. 84.

4:50 p.m.—Officer Gallegos dispatched to Fairfield Quick Lube in reference to a minor motor vehicle accident.

May 5

10 a.m.—Officer Gasaway assisted a Navarro county deputy with retrieving a statement.

3:20 p.m.—Officer Gasaway to police department to meet a complainant.

7:30 p.m.—Officer Irion and Cpl. Green on a civil dispute.

May 6

7:24 a.m.—Cpl. Bass to police department to meet a complainant.

11:06 a.m.—Officer Tiner assisted a subject with a loading ramp.

12:37 p.m.—Cpl. Bass to suspicious vehicle.

1:30 p.m.—Cpl. Bass to suspicious subjects in park.

2:20 p.m.—Officer Tiner to police department to meet a complainant.

11 p.m.—Officer Gasaway assisted with a missing child at Love's Travel Center. Child was found in women's restroom.

May 7

5:15 a.m.—Officer Gasaway met with a complainant at the police department in reference to an offense that occurred in the county. Advised to speak to deputies.

8:15 a.m.—Officer met a complainant at the police department in reference to a civil matter.

11:45 a.m.—Officer Irion assisted a stranded motorist in the middle of the roadway.

2:30 p.m.—Officer Irion dispatched to S. Fairway in reference to a possible assault.

5:45 p.m.—Officer Kindon dispatched to Fairfield junior high school in reference to a missing child. The child had already made it home.

7:55 p.m.—Offier Kindon dispatched to Church Street in reference to an 18-wheeler that had torn down telephone lines.

May 8

3:30 a.m.—Reckless driver on the interstate. Officer unable to locate.

7:55 a.m.—Officer Gasaway dispatched to LaQuinta Inn in reference to stolen property.

11:45 a.m.—Officer Gasaway assisted Fairfield EMS at Texas Burger restaurant about a female worker who passed out while working.

12:50 p.m.—Cpl. Green dispatched to Bossier Country automobile dealership in reference to a civil matter.

5:50 p.m.—Officer Gallegos, Sgt. Warren and Officer Tiner dispatched to Bonner Street in reference to a disturbance. One person arrested on assault, family violence.

7:55 p.m.—Officer Tiner assisted with a stranded motorist on the bridge at FM 27 and I-45.

9:15 p.m.—Sgt. Warren assisted truck drivers at Love's to find another parking stop besides the roadway.

May 9

1:50 a.m.—Officers checked suspicious vehicle beside Family Dollar store.

8:55 a.m.—Officer Gasaway dispatched to Love's in reference to a suspicious person in a vehicle. Subject was just sleeping.

3:30 p.m.—Cpl. Green assisted medics with a disoriented person. Family members assisted with the situation.

4:40 p.m.—Cpl. Green, while on a traffic stop, arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant from another county.

9:30 p.m.—Officers assisted county unit on a traffic stop.

May 10

1:40 a.m.—Officers checked on loud noises behind Fairfield EMS building. Subjects advised to quiet down.

9:20 a.m.—Officer Gasaway dispatched to Love's in reference to traffic problems.

2 p.m.—Officer Gasaway arrested a subject on outstanding warrants out of the city.

5:50 p.m.—Officers responded to a business in reference to burglary of a coin operated machine.

6:30 p.m.—Officers responded to a possible disturbance. Unable to locate.

10:45 p.m.—Officer responds to an alarm at Pizza Hut restaurant. Everything okay.
