Fairfield golfers finish district
Fairfield high school golfers wrapped up the season Monday when they played the second of two District 20-AAA tournaments.
The event was held in Jacksonville.
Brownsboro claims the boys' district crown with a 2-tourney stroke total of 699, and Palestine carded 723 points for second place. The top two teams advance to region play.
Other team totals over the two district rounds are: Crockett, 744; Palestine Westwood, 757; and Fairfield, 984.
District medalist honors go to Kyle Woodard of Palestine who fired a 76 at Jacksonville for a 2-tourney stroke total of 159.
Second medalist is Trey Valentine of Brownsboro, 163 over two tourneys, and third goes to Drew Pirtle of Brownsboro, 168.
Posting the low score Monday for Fairfield, a 110, was Kory Jumper.
Other FHS boys' scores are: Adam Rhoads, 127; Brady Reavis, 127; Lane Oliver, 129; Thomas Schlabra, 134; Austin Diaz, 109; and Zack Mims, 141.
The district girls' golf title goes to Palestine with a 937 tally over the two tourneys, Crockett is second at 988 and Brownsboro is third at 1,009. Fairfield did not field a full team.
Crockett player Kendall Earp claims girls' medalist honors, firing an 86 Monday for a 178 total, Christi Cockerell of Palestine is second at 212 and Emily Miller carded a 231 for third.
Faifield scores Monday were: Sarah Rhoads, 150; Jordan Gandy, 155; and Bree Woody, 152.
