Freestone county grand jurors returned 20 felony criminal indictments against 17 defendants during its regular monthly session.

The grand jury convened Wednesday, March 25, at the courthouse in Fairfield.

Charges on which action was taken include driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, manufacture or delivery of alprazolam, possession of methadone, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, credit card abuse, forgery, evading arrest, burglary and improper photography or visual recording.

Indicted by the grand jury are:

—Andres Cadena, 36, of Orchard on a Dec. 24, 2008, charge of DWI. The indictement shows two prior DWI convictions.

—Shannon Otis, 35, of Desoto, on a complaint of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon on Dec. 1, 2008.

—Calvin D. Sanford, Jr., 30 of Houston on a Jan. 21 charge of manufacture or delivery of alphrzalam.

—Joseph Stewart, 34, of Houston on a Jan. 21 charge of manufacture or delivery of alprazolam.

—Michael Lynn Brooks, 40, of Palestine on a charge of possession of methadone on Oct. 7, 2008.

—Marvin Harrelson, 47, of Dayton on a complaint of DWI on Jan. 19. The indictment shows two prior DWI convictions.

—Christopher Deon James, 26, of Teague on a Feb. 15 complaint of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a 1989 Camaro owned by Jacob Noll.

—Rufus Gilder, 38, of Houston on a charge of credit card abuse, allegedly using a fictitious VISA card on which information on its magnetic strip was altered.

—Lonnie Rotenberry, 29, of Saginaw, on a Dec. 8, 2008, charge of forgery by passing, allegedly a fraudulent check for $425.267 on a bank account of Doyle or Jeanie Seale of Fairfield.

—Lonnie Rotenberry, 29, of Saginaw, on a Dec. 7, 2008, charge of forgery by passing, allegedly a fraudulent check for $386 on a bank account of Catherine Johnson of Fairfield.

—Shane Thomas Henley, 18, of Oakwood on a complaint of evading arrest, allegedly fleeing Fairfield police Sgt. Larry Warren on Feb. 26.

—Trevor Robert Parker, 19, of Wortham on a charge of burglary of a building of David Petty on Feb. 14.

—Trevor Robert Parker, 19, of Wortham on a Feb. 14 complaint of burglary of a habitation of Ray Foster.

—Chauncey Landrum, 30, of Wortham on a charge of burglary of a building of David Petty on Feb. 14.

—Chauncey Landrum, 30, of Wortham on a Feb. 14 complaint of burglary of a habitation of Ray Foster.

—Joe C. Starks, 40, of Oakwood on a complaint of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a 1998 Pontiac of Sharon Fletcher, on March 5.

—Thomas Lamar O'Brien, 41, of Fairfield on a Nov. 1, 2008 charge of improper photography or visual recording, allegedly making a videotape of Stacy O'Brien without her consent.
