Senior Moments
This past week has been a busy one! I attended a Meals on Wheels Conference.
My brain feels like it is on information "overload" -- so much to process.
I learned a lot and am excited to implement some new ideas.
Some of the classes I attended were: Kitchen Confidential, Texas Department of Agriculture regarding the "Texans Feeding Texans Meal Grant", Nutrition Education and the upcoming implementation of Dietary Required Intake requirements proposed by the Department of Disability and Aging, Elder Abuse: It's Everybody's Business, Identification and Assessment of Dementia by Nonprofessionals, Leadership, and the Future of Serving Seniors.
I had the opportunity to network with some of the larger MOW programs, such as Ft. Worth, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio who were very willing to share information to improve MOW programs.
I am very grateful that I was able to attend the conference.
Not only will our Meals on Wheels program benefit, but the senior centers will benefit as well.
The conference was sponsored by the Meals on Wheels Association of Texas of which Freestone County is a member.
It is so hard to believe that we will be celebrating Easter this coming weekend.
The time is passing so quickly.
It is my wish that each of you have a very Blessed Easter and you are able to spend time with family and friends.
Until next time, Kathy
