In Florida this summer . . .

NATHAN RIKARD NATHAN RIKARD Fairfield high school senior Nathan Rikard was invited to participate in the Actors, Models and Talent Competition Convention this summer after auditioning for the group in Arlington.

Rikard learned about the opportunity from his theater production teacher Jeff Wright and prepared a 60-second monologue for the agency's auditions which were held Feb. 2 at the Hilton in Arlington.

Following the auditions, Rikard was invited to attend the group's convention in Orlando, Florida which will be held this summer.

The 18-year old student intends to compete in several categories at the convention including: television commercial, monologue, scene reading, photography, swimsuit and spokesperson.

He has been a member of the FHS Drama Club for four years and has participated in the high school's annual fall production.

Rikard is active in the youth group at the First Baptist Church of Fairfield and has been taking guitar lessons for almost a year.

He is the son of Bob and Cynthia Rikard of Fairfield and the grandson of Don and Maxine Rikard of Lampasas and Harold and Gynne Massey of Fairfield.

Expenses for the convention are substantial and several fund-raisers are being planned to cover costs.
