Church files lawsuit over will and trust
      The Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe, N.M., and St. Bernard's Catholic Church of Fairfield filed suit against an estate trustee claiming they have been effectively cut out of proceeds from the will and testament of a deceased Freestone county woman.

12 under par wins senior golf
      A golf foursome combined efforts for a low score of 12 shots under par to win the weekly senior scramble at Big Cedar Country Club. The event featured 24 golfers divided into six teams. Format was for each player to tee off, then members play their own shots from the best drive. Two scores were recorded on each hole.

      Signups opened this week for Fairfield junior high school students, boys and girls, to join the golf program. Junior high golf is open to students in grades 5-8 and runs to the end of April. Practices at Big Cedar Country Club start Monday, April 6.

Debut at Westwood . . .
      The Fairfield junior high school Lady Eagles seventh grade track team claimed first place and the eighth grade team was third in its division in their season debut meet at Palestine Westwood. Results from the meet, run Feb. 27, were not released to coaches until last Thursday.

Student to audition
In Florida this summer . . .
      Fairfield high school senior Nathan Rikard was invited to participate in the Actors, Models and Talent Competition Convention this summer after auditioning for the group in Arlington. Rikard learned about the opportunity from his theater production teacher Jeff Wright and prepared a 60-second monologue for the agency's auditions which were held Feb.
